Again here are some more cards using up retired pattern paper. I also got the set Four Square when Sale-a-bration was on. I really like the stamps that are in it. When I was cutting the squares I ended up with all the extra polka dot ones. I wasn't sure that it would work with just one pattern but I really am happy with it.

I have really been trying to use up as much stuff that I can before I buy any of the new stuff when the new Stampin' Up! catty comes out. I am very pleased how these turned out. It is hard to see in this picture but I did pop the sentiment as well as 3 other squares on each card. It just adds a little something to a very simple idea. Enjoy!!

I got this set when Sale-a-bration was one. It is called Very Thankful and I love this particular stamp out of this set. It is really hard to see in the picture but I ran the bottom the the card through the bigshot with a embossing folder. I really like how these turned out. I was thinking that they would be a nice teacher gift.

I saw a card like this done but in different colors and really liked it. The colors were a bit girly and since I have 2 boys I decided to change up the colors. I am not really liking the way this card turned out. Something is missing?? I might try again later with different colors.

I am so excited about how these cards turned out. I always have so much patterened paper scraps left and am never really sure what to do with them. I can't remember what the set is called that the stamp is from but is really love it. I always seem to be short on Birthday cards and this is a quick and easy way to make one up.

I really love this card. One of the girls that I went to the retreat in Alberta was making these cards. She had small sheets of metal that she was running throough the bigshot with an embossing folder. What a really cool look. I was very excited when she gave me one. Thanks Lori!

I'm Back

Well I can't believe that it is May already! I really don't know where the time has gone. I have just been so busy with work and my boys and unfortunately something had to give. I feel like I sorta got my mojo back at the beginning of April though. I went back to Alberta for a Scrappin' Retreat. It was WAY fun!!! These are 2 of the make and takes that we did. Hope you enjoy. 2010 Calendar

This is an idea that I have been playing around with. I had these metal sheets from many years ago and decided they might be cool to use for a calendar. Each month is held on with a clip that is a magnet. I used the Butterfly die from Stampin' Up! and the retired Baja Breeze paper and ribbon and the retired designer paper. I am really happy with how this turned out. I am in the process of trying to make a few more. I will post once they are done.

Here are the last 2 calendars I made. These are both made with retired Stampin' Up! paper that I love. Now you need to let me know which is your favorite. I promised the kids we could use it this year, seeing as I didn't find the idea until the middle of December last year. Thanks for looking. :)

This one is made with current Stampin' Up! designer paper - Merry Moments. I'm not one that uses the Garden green much but I think this turned out ok.

This one is made with retired Stampin' Up! designer paper - Dashing. The pictures don't do either of these justice. They look much brighter and better in person.

Christmas Card Class - Card 5

This is the 5th and final card they will be making at my Christmas Card class. It uses the new Tree Trimmings set - one that I recieved at Convention this year. I used Old Olive, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White paper and Real Red ribbon and ink. I stamped all the ornaments and then cut them out and popped them on the card. I like the element of dimension.

As soon as I saw this new Christmas set - Sparkly & Bright I new that I needed to have it. It is just such a fun set. I used Rich Razzleberry, Bashful Blue, Whisper white and the scalloped squares are in Dusty Durango.

I really like the Christmas Punch hostess set. I stamped the snowmen and then cut them out. I think this is such a fun card. It uses Garden Green which coordinates with the designer paper Merry moments but it is not a color I normally use. I actually really like how it turned out. I love the ribbon scarves.

This is the second card that we will be making. Again I am using on of the single stamps that Stampin' Up! offers. I really love the Dasher. I also used the Season of Joy set. The card is done in Kraft, Real Red and Very Vanilla cardstock. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. I cased it from someone on Splitcoast and I can't remember who, sorry I wish I could give credit to them. I hope they like it.

I'm hosting a Christmas Card and Tag class in 2 weeks and this is one of the cards that we will be making. I really love the new single stamps that Stampin' Up! offers. I used the Simple snowflake one here and the matching punch. I used Whisper White, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue. I used the Top note die and ran it through the Big Shot twice to get the shape. I am going to post the rest of the cards over the next week. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving Card for Club

I love this new set Falling Leaves and the matching wheel. I always want to show my club a new technique each month and this is one of the things that we are doing this month. It is hard to see in this picture but I did the Rock n' Roll technique on the leaf. After this picture was taken I added a piece of Chocolate chip to back the Dusty Durango to tie it together a little more.

Frogs Frogs Everywhere

There seems to be an abundance of frogs around our place lately. You can hear them almost everyday. My boys were playing outside yesterday after school with friends and found this little guy. I loved the color of him and ran to get my camera to take a few shots. He hopped away before I could get anymore. Enjoy!

I love the Sparkly and Bright stamp set and I saw this on Splitcoast and pretty much cased it as is. I love the colors, Rose Red, Taken with Teal and Old Olive. Not your traditional Christmas colors but they turned out great. Enjoy!

From the Crypt Bookmark

When I first saw this set - From the Crypt I knew that my boys would love it. I saw this bookmark as part of a double pocket card on Splitcoast and thought that I could make it for my boys classes for Halloween. I am really happy how it turned out. I didn't have any Halloween designer paper so I used the Merry Moments designer paper. I love the simple Black, White and Old Olive combination.

Last few days of Summer

My boys were trying to squeeze every last minute out of summer. They went back to school on Tuesday. When they were playing outside with friends they found a few Grasshoppers. Of course my son Joshua wanted me to take 9 million pictures of them. Well I did take a few. This picture is of their friend Cole holding one of them. I absolutely love this picture. I hate to toot my own horn but I think I took a really good picture.

Here are 2 more swaps that I rec'd at Convention made with one of my favorite sets - For All You Do. This card is actually perforated down the middle so that the right side can be taken off and used as a bookmark. What a cool idea!

This card is one of my favorites. It is so simple but I just love it. I was really excited to get both of these from Convention. I will for sure be casing both of them.

Club Projects

This is the card that we made for club this month. It uses the Medallion background stamp which is the #1 selling stamp that Stampin' Up! sells. I wanted to show my group how to use the spritzing tool. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I like the simplicity of the Medallion stamp.

I decided to do a scrapbook page for my club this month as well. I have never done that so I feel that it is a little basic, but I like pages to focus on the pictures and not a crazy amount of stuff on them. It is hard to see in the picture but I sponged using Soft Suede on the edges of all the paper. It is a different color combo to use - Not Quite Navy and Dusty Durango but I actually like it. This picture really doesn't make this page look very nice but it is alot better in person.

Scissor Charms

I have seen these charms for a while now and everytime I have a club night or an open house I'm never really sure where my scissors will end up. I thought I would try to make them and I am really happy with how they turned out. I will be trying some more. Once I do I will post for you to see.

Here are some more swaps from Convention. I am just trying to pick a few that I really like the colors or layout of.

This beer mug card is so cute. It is really hard to see in the picture but she used Crystal Effects on the beer mugs to look like a real glass with beer in it. Finally a really great guy card!

This turtle is from the Ronald McDonald set and I really love it. This card also uses the Woodgrain background stamp. I never really even thought that it would be something that I would like but it adds a nice touch to this card.

I have always liked the sets (Extreme Elements and Extreme Surfing) used to make this card and so have my boys. These are sets on my must have list, which is always ever growing. Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the swaps I received from Convention.

Well I am back from my first ever Stampin' Up! Convention and it was amazing. I'm not even sure where to start to tell you everything. We have already decided that we are going again next year. Lets start with swaps. These are the cards that I used for swaps as well as the Love Bug one from a previous post. I took 100 swaps and got some really great stuff in return. I am just getting myself caught up on things now that I am back and will post lots in the next few days so stay tuned.

New Catty Party

This is one of the cards that I used for Make n' takes at my New Catty Party in July. I wanted to use the new In-colors yet keep them simple. This card I cased from the New Catty, just changing the colors. I used the Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry, and Melon Mambo. I also used whisper white and Old Olive. I used the Pick a Petal stamp set.

This is the other card we made. I again cased it from the catty just changing colors and using a different Butterfly stamp. It uses the Bermuda Bay and the Soft Suede. I love the new ribbon so much. It is great that you can use the polka dot side or just the plain side.

I really love the Pocket Silhouettes set. This is a card I made for a stamp class. It is so simple but it really turned out great. This is one of my favorite ribbons, it is from the mini at Christmas last year. I am going to be making similar ones for my boys teachers for the end of the year. Fathers Day Wallets

I wanted to make something for Fathers Day for my club this month and this is what we made. This one uses the Faux Alligator technique. I really like how it turned out but it took a lot of Glassy Glaze Enamel.

This is another wallet that I made. It is supposed to look like leather. I simply took the stamp pad and stamped it all over until I had the look that I wanted. I think I should have added some stitching, I still might.

This is what both wallets look like inside. They have a spot for money and 2 slots for cards. I sponged the inside to give it a little texture.

Fathers Day Cards

I made a few different Fathers Day Cards and thought I would share them all. This one uses the Origami technique to make the shirt. I added the little pocket and hard to see but on the right hand side I punched out some circles in the same color to add some texture.

This also uses the Origami technique for the shirt but I also added a tie with ribbon. I thought it was kinda fun!!

This is just a very simple card. I used the Canvas Background stamp on the Kiwi Kiss, it is hard to see in this picture. Simple but I like it. Hope you all enjoy your Fathers Day!!

Grid Card

I'm not sure if this is actually called a Grid card or not but that is what I am going to call it. I started with a piece of white paper and used my Scor-Pal to make grid lines. Then I used a sponge dauber and used Bashful Blue ink and rubbed it all over. The idea is that it would make the grid show up more. It is hard to see in this picture but it turned out really nice in person.

The Cutest Box of Cards EVER!

This is just the Cutest Box EVER! I used the tutorial at http://www.fabulouslyartsy.blogspot.com/ to make the box. It has 3 compartments in it. I used the middle one for the envelopes. The cards are just 3x3 in size but so fun. I used paper from my stash. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip Taffeta from Stampin' Up! and so is the Corduroy button on the front of the box. This was such a simple and easy project. When I make it next time I would make the cards a little more elaborate. I think this would be a fun class. I might have to see who would be interested!?!?

Flowers in my Garden

I decided that I wanted to share some of the flowers starting to bloom in my garden. These are called Califormia Poppies and totally seed themselves. I actually didn't plant any of these. I have a space that is by my garage, 1 foot x 22 feet and it is covered with these. They are really pretty.

I have 3 pots that I just put some simple Marigolds in. My boys wanted Yellow, Orange and Red flowers and these fit the bill. I love the color combination, makes me think of cardstock colors.

This is a pretty special Poppy. I was just going to take a picture of the flower but that wouldn't show you just how big it is. So instead as I was taking the picture I put my hand next to the flower. Just so you know I do not have small hands, this Poppy is huge. I only have one plant and there are 10 more flowers just like this one getting ready to open.

This is the last flower picture for today. I really love the color of these Iris's. It is a small plant yet it still has many flowers on it. The colors are great. I am hoping to get some stamping done in the next few days to show you. I just started working last week and it is a bit of an adjustment for me.

Crazy for Cupcakes - Girl Birthday

I used the same layout as the Boy birthday card from yesterday. I find the single cupcake more boyish and this tower of cupcakes more for girls. This card is not super girly by any means but it is bright and fun. I really love this set and I don't even own it. I stamped a bunch of images at a retreat when I borrowed it from a fellow stamper. I need to make a bunch of Birthday card to replenish my stockpile.

Having 2 boys they get invited to a lot of Birthday parties and I have since run out of boy cards. I was just trying to play with a layout and switch it up for a boy or girl. I just started using the Basic Grey more often and I really enjoy how it makes things turn out. I am making a girl version of this card that I will post tomorrow.

I love the Spotlighting Technique. I made a different card last month for my club using this technique and I love this card way more. Of the 2 cards my favorite is the bottom one with the black ribbon. I love the color combination of Old Olive, Real Red, White and Black. Hope you enjoy!

Ok, I have to say that I love this card. I really love everything about it. It used a lot of cardstock but I think the end result is fantastic. I used my sponges to add a little texture, although it is hard to see in the picture.

I bought this set - Enjoy every Moment, a long time ago. I really like it but seem not to use it to much. The only thing I changed between the cards were the Felt Flowers and the small sentiment under Enjoy. I used the retired designer paper Hawaii Papaya. This is a great layout and so simple to change it up.

This card uses the hostess set Darling Dots from the current catty. I have to say that I love to use Black in cards, just a hint of black makes such a difference. This is a fun card that I am sure would brighten someones day. It is very simple but I really like the way it turned out.

Wow Flowers Birthday Card

I decided that I had many stamp sets that I hadn't used lately. I went on Splitcoast and pulled off some ideas and spent the afternoon making cards. I ended up making 11 cards in total. Here are 2 of them using the Wow Flowers set. I just changed the ribbon and the dimensions where I stamped the flowers. I don't really like these cards very much but still thought I would share. I will post the rest of the cards later this week.

Sneak Peek for Club

These are the two cards that I am doing for club this month. The first is a gel card. I love the fish from the Just Beachy set. The designer paper is the Good Morning Sunshine, I thought the dots looked kinda like bubbles. The second card is just plain fun. Last month after club one of the ladies saw this card in my craft room and asked if we could make it. Of course I said yes and I updated it with current colors. It uses the Pick a Petal set. It just goes to show you that you sometimes need to think outside the box.

Mothers Day Weekend

I had to post these wonderful pictures from my Mothers Day weekend. I took the boys up to Kelowna this weekend to visit some family. We stayed at my Grandmas house who lives just outside Kelowna in Ellison. She backs onto a park that has a stream/river running through it. You can hike all the way up to the waterfall, which is where the first picture was taken. As we walked back the boys wanted to pick some flowers for Great Grandma. We found a field with a ton of the yellow flowers in it. Not sure what kind they are but they are quite pretty.

I am loving this set as you can see. I used the Sweet Always designer paper and just switched the Chocolate Chip paper with Regal Rose. I always make 2 cards at a time and I love to change them up a little bit. It is amazing how different a card can look with just a slight change.

I was just going to make 2 of the same card and at the last minute decided to slightly change them. I used the Pacific Point cardstock and the Good Morning Sunshine designer paper. I love the hint of black on both the cards. I love the Cheep Talk set, the birds are so fun.

Another Simple Flower Card

This card also uses the Good Friend set. I have been having a hard time using it for the bird. The flower stems are the birds feet upside down. It uses Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss and Summer Sun ink. It is hard to tell in this picture but for the grass I used the scallop edge punch and then cut it to look like blades of grass.

I cased this from Splitcoast. It uses the Good Friend set from Stampin' Up! I used Kiwi Kiss, Pumpkin Pie, and Regal Rose ink. I have had this ribbon for a long time and the colors were perfect. It is a very simple spring card.

Mothers Day Flower Pot Card

This page actually has both my boys on it . They are wearing the same little outfit, sitting in the same spot in our house and roughly the same age. Again no journaling done on this page yet.

I really just love the colors and the way I put the pictures on this page. I wish that I maybe had used more embellishments but it is still a fun page.

I was so very lucky this past Christmas in that Santa brought me the Cricut Create. I really do enjoy it and I find it so easy to do titles. I am hoping this will help me step up my scrapbooking. The week after Christmas I did 8 or 9 pages and haven't done much lately.

Chicken Pox

My boys are now 6 (Joshua) and 8 (Jacob) and I am just starting to scrapbook. I am feeling a little overwhelmed as to where to start. I am just doing pictures that interest me and not in any order. My pages are pretty simple as you can see above. I haven't even done any journaling on this page yet. I took another picture of the one on the far right so that you could see my son Joshua and just how bad his chicken pox actually were. Jacob got them first from preschool and then Joshua got it. He was 2 1/2 in these pics. He had them EVERYWHERE, yes I mean everywhere. He had them in the back of his throat, on his scalp, he even had one on his eyeball. It was not a fun time, but it makes a cute page.

Cracked Glass

I made this cracked glass card a few months ago with my club and am just getting around to post it now. It looks so much better in person. It is hard to see the cracked glass effect in the picture. I really like this color combination. It is Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Apricot Appeal, and Very Vanilla.

I have to say that I love the Owl Together Now set. I don't own it yet but was able to borrow it at a retreat I went to. My favorite card is the one with the one owl and the balloon. I love the paper, layout and I love the hint of black in it. If you ever get this card from me you are really special, I think I only have 2 left. Hope you think they are just as fun as I do.

My Son's Drawings

I just wanted to share a few of my Son Jacobs (who is eight years old) drawings. He is totally into Bakugans right now. They are these little round things and when they touch metal they open. You can see a picture of one in the first picture. He loves to draw so I printed off one of the pages from the website. I just thought they were great so I had to share.

Just Beachy

I just put together my new set Just Beachy and wanted to play. I found this layout on Splitcoast, can't remember who it is from. I used Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Sun and Whisper White paper. I used the Scallop border edge punch on a scrap piece of paper and then sponged onto the white to make it look like waves. I love this set, my boys were the ones that really wanted me to buy it. The fish are so fun. I am planning on doing a gel card with this set next month for my clubs. Once I do I will post the pictures.

I just started a new club this month and for a little something extra I made them all Bookmarkers with their first initial on them. I found the idea on Dawns Stampin Studio. It is just a 6x6 piece of paper folded. I used the Sweet Always Designer paper. I really liked the way they turned out and everyone was excited to recieve them.

Great Friend Gift set

I made up these cards for one of my Moms friends who helped me out. I used the Great Friend set and the swirl is from the Christmas set Season of Joy. I used the Riding Hood Red and Whisper White paper. My downline made this card in Black and White, I loved it and just used the red as my Moms friends favorite color is red. I made a bundle and tied them with the striped Riding Hood Red Ribbon.

Last minute, 2 hours before my club meeting I decided to add an additional project . I found this Box in a Bag on Splitcoast. I used the Good Morning Sunshine designer paper. My club was very excited to make it.

Here is a preview of the cards that I will be making with my stamp club next week. The first is with the new set Great Friend. I used the Jumbo grommets as well. The second card is with the set Scene in the Garden using the spotlight technique. I hope my club like them.

Just got my first order from the new catty and wanted to play. I saw the whale card on Splitcoast and pretty much cased it. What a neat idea! The card with Trendy Trees uses the technique of the Recessed Window Frame. I really liked how it turned out. Enjoy!

Well I finally did it. I started a blog. This is more like a test to see if I can figure out how to work everything. Once I get organized I will post some pics.
